WHERE IS CHALK HILL AND HOW DO I GET THERE?
CHALK HILL is a 16-acre rustic camp site located 8 1/2 miles off Hwy 101 in Windsor,
Sonoma County, California. Located beside Franz Creek and surrounded by
vineyards and ancient Redwood trees. This undeveloped site has 4 campsites, each
with fire ring and picnic table. The grand fire ring is suitable for group gatherings of
story telling and S'mores. There is no potable water, showers or power, however a
port-a-potty is provided. Franz Creek is great for water play with a depth of 1-4 feet, but
does run dry toward the end of summer.
Chalk Hill is a great location for large family camping, company picnics, scouting
groups or weddings and is especially suitable for day use. The site will only
accommodate about 8 vehicles but can hold 30-40 campers.
For rentals, call the Camp Fire Office at (707) 643-4573. The Chalk Hill camp site is in
continuous need of maintenance and grooming, we are willing to exchange use of the
property for work weekends provided by your organization. Call the office for details.
